Guacamole is loved worldwide as a creamy avocado dip. Ayurveda values avocado for its nourishing, cooling qualities – ideal for Vata and Pitta. With the right spice combination, such as lime juice, cumin, or chili, the guacamole can be individually adjusted to the doshas. Especially for Kapha, the dip can be enhanced with activating spices.

Preparation time: 5–10 minutes

Add extra lime juice and cumin, optionally some pepper.

Use mild spices, fresh herbs, enjoy cool.

Spice up with chili or ginger, use little oil, add onion.
Ingredients
2 ripe avocados
1–2 tablespoons lime juice (depending on dosha)
1 small tomato, finely diced (optional)
1 tablespoon fresh herbs (cilantro or parsley), chopped
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1 small garlic clove, finely chopped (for Kapha, optional)
1 pinch chili or ginger (optional, for Kapha)
Salt to taste
Preparation
Cut the avocados in half, scoop out the flesh, and mash it coarsely.
Mix in the lime juice, cumin, herbs, and tomatoes, if desired.
Season with salt to taste, and add garlic or chili according to your dosha.
Serve immediately.

Serve as a dip with raw vegetables, crackers, or bread. Also delicious as a topping for bowls or wraps.
